Bob Svendsen provides the financial and strategic leadership for CHMB. With more than 30 years as a financial executive and entrepreneur in multiple industries, he provides the foundation necessary to lead one of the fastest-growing private companies in the U.S. His strategic leadership focus is on continuing the organic growth CHMB has experienced over the past 22 years, as well as on expanding the geographic reach of the organization through acquisitions of complementary healthcare technology and business services companies. Svendsen is an active participant in various healthcare industry thought-leadership groups and national industry associations.
Janet Boos provides the strategic leadership of the operational management team, which encompasses the oversight of all aspects of client account services, revenue cycle management, IS and IT services, and electronic health record deployment services. With more than 25 years in the industry, Boos has transformed CHMB into a sophisticated technology and business services company offering healthcare organizations unparalleled service lines with a full array of administrative and clinical solutions. Boos participates in regional and national trade associations that focus on boosting the knowledge base on revenue cycle management and transitioning to EHR.
Ian MaurerSenior Vice President, Technology
Ian Maurer is responsible for business process optimization within the Information Technology department and assists with overall company strategy. In addition, Ian oversees the design, development and maintenance of CHMB’s systems and infrastructure. Ian brings 18 years of healthcare Information Technology experience, formerly serving as CIO of MediGain Practice Management and VP of Information Technology and Business Intelligence for QVL Pharmacies. Ian began his career in software engineering where he developed one of the first compliant and regionally approved e-Prescribing platforms in the United States.
James TrewinSenior Vice President, Information Services
James Trewin is responsible for application development, database administration, data warehousing, and data exchange interfaces. He manages a skilled team of developers committed to keeping CHMB’s systems running smoothly. Trewin provides innovative solutions that add value to our customers through data migration, reporting services and interface development. Prior to CHMB, Trewin was an officer in the Naval Civil Engineer Corps, where he received the Navy Achievement Medal for his design and implementation of project management software used throughout the southwest region. James graduated Summa Cum Laude from Texas A&M.
Paula KacsirSenior Vice President, Revenue Cycle Operations
Paula Kacsir is responsible for the development of a team focused on quality, consistency and delivery of client service nationwide. Kacsir provides strategic account oversight & analysis, advocacy, and consultative leadership. Formerly Senior Director of Business Services for Scripps Medical Foundation; Kacsir brings broad experience in employed and affiliated physician’s accounts receivables management. Working with leaders from across the organization; Kacsir’s responsibilities included billing for over 500 primary care and specialty physicians, two ambulatory surgical centers, diagnostic imaging centers, lab and urgent care facilities.
Vicki BrownSenior Vice President, Client Relations
Vicki Brown focuses on the success and outcomes of CHMB’s client relationships to promote strong, collaborative, partnerships by matching creative solutions to unique client needs. With more than 30 years of clinical and management experience in multiple healthcare capacities as well as in various settings including large medical centers, outpatient clinics and physician offices. Working with both clinical and business sides of medicine, she provides a unique perspective create positive outcomes. Prior to joining CHMB, Brown directed the efforts of 18 departments at a large medical center and provided consulting to develop various innovative programs.
Elaine EverettVice President, RCM Quality Assurance
Elaine Everett directs process improvement and documentation and quality review of all revenue cycle processes at CHMB. Everett also provides high level analysis on the overall health of AR. Prior to joining CHMB, Elaine served as the Sr. Director of Scripps Health Plan Services and Business Service. With over 35 years of healthcare experience, Everett was responsible for directing all aspects of revenue cycle management for 700+ providers and AR over $80 million and 200k+ claims/month. Everett led projects such as MSO start-up and consolidation and managed acquisitions from both a billing and managed care functions perspective.
Marianne GregsonVice President, Partner Initiatives
Marianne Gregson is responsible for CHMB’s Partner Programs, aligning top-tier national organizations who have strong relationships with clients and similar values in delivering high quality products and services. Gregson develops new channel, referral and alignment partners to drive new business opportunities to the organization. With more than 25 years of strategic marketing and sales experience, she brings a depth of knowledge in building alliances and programs which will mutually benefit all partners to achieve financial security and growth. Gregson is passionate about developing new programs and partnerships to benefit all organizations.
Martha PinalVice President, Implementation
Martha Pinal manages a team of professionals that is responsible for implementing new services and providing training and ongoing support for new and existing clients. She has more than 15 years of experience in physician group practice billing and collections including managing a large urgent care facility and general surgery group. Pinal’s knowledge of provider and group credentialing and licensing greatly benefits new and existing clients. Her dedication to customer service and attention to detail provides new clients with a highly valued level of comfort before, during and after implementing CHMB outsourced billing services.
Michelle SouferianVice President, Strategic Accounts
Michelle Souferian oversees direct sales initiatives at CHMB. Previously, Souferian spent over 3 years leading business development for a revenue cycle and practice management provider. Her experience includes working with leading medical billing companies and medium-to-large physician practices to deliver increased revenue and a streamlined approach to implementation of these services. Prior to joining the healthcare market, she spent time working in the Microsoft partner channel, selling financial systems to Fortune 500 companies and the mid-market. Michelle is passionate about helping physicians and health systems realize the value of their services.
Phebe Jones, MBA, SPHR-CA, CHPE, SHRM-SCPVice President, Human Resources
Phebe Jones is responsible for the Human Resources at CHMB. Jones spent 10 years of her career in healthcare, most recently as VP of Human Resources and Corporate Compliance Officer at North County Health Services. Prior to NCHS, Jones led the HR and Occupational Health function for Rady Children’s Hospital-San Diego and Children’s Specialists Medical Group, as well as the Management Services Organization (MSO). Jones has earned an MBA and Senior Professional of HR-California (SPHR-CA), Certified HIPAA Privacy Expert (CHPE) and national certification through the Society for HR Management Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP).
Gina CecchiRegional Vice President, Strategic Accounts
Gina Cecchi oversees revenue cycle services with clients at CHMB. Cecchi brings 16 years of health care management experience in the areas of revenue cycle, physician recruitment/retention and health care information technology. Cecchi is passionate about continually building and strengthening client partnerships to achieve the highest level of customer satisfaction. Cecchi’s experience also includes the management and oversight of both private practice and hospital based provider groups ranging in a multitude of specialties. Her business analytic skills, interest in workflow optimization and strategic planning efforts positively impacts CHMB’s clients.
Michelle PenaRegional Vice President, Operations
Michelle Pena brings more than 20 years of experience in the medical billing field to CHMB. As the RCM Director for the San Diego office, Michelle directs the RCM workflow and manages the accounts receivable for RCM clients. Additionally, she aids in the research of compliance issues for clients and keeps teams up to date on current healthcare industry events and education. Michelle is a Certified Professional Coder and has experience across multiple specialties and practice management platforms.
Diane PrettymanDirector, RCM Operations
Diane Prettyman provides operations and staffing support to the dedicated account managers who supervise each of CHMB’s teams. She has more than 20 years of experience in medical office and billing operations and works to ensure that operations are staffed and performing to meet client expectations and company goals. Prior to joining CHMB, Prettyman was an administrator for a general surgery group and oversaw both the medical practice and the group-owned ambulatory surgical center, ensuring they were meeting goals and were successful. Prettyman’s extensive experience in billing operations provides clients with a high level of knowledge and service.
Don HowardDirector, Technical Operations
Don Howard is responsible for the Electronic Healthcare Records, Interface and Support departments. He has worked in the healthcare industry for over 20 years. He is a licensed nurse and holds a Bachelor of Science in Cellular Biology. His many years of experience has enabled him to acquire a well-balanced skill set with certifications of accomplishment in computer networking, Unix and Windows operating systems, Visual Basic, SQL and an advanced certificate in the HL7 bridging program ConnectR. He works closely with outside vendors, hospital staff, physicians and their staff, as well as the internal leadership in an effort to ensure technological stability and advancement.
Mike Baker, MBA, CPADirector, Finance
Mike Baker is responsible for managing the finance department at CHMB, along with working closely with operations. He has over 10 years of experience working in the healthcare industry with 5 years as a Controller for Quality Care Convalescent Management, Inc. and 5 years in a consultative role in the skilled nursing and assisted living fields. Prior to working in the healthcare industry, Michael worked for Entriq, Inc., a global software developer, as the VP of Finance. He has earned an MBA in Finance and an MS in Taxation and is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in California and Oregon.
Ron AndersonDirector, Business Development
Ron Anderson oversees CHMB’s business development initiatives. His expertise in revenue cycle management, reimbursement analytics and healthcare information systems is a valuable resource for clients. Anderson is actively involved in the healthcare industry, conducting educational courses to inform practice administrators and clinicians on relevant issues impacting their organizations today. He has been a member of the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) since 1996 and is past chair of the MGMA Information Technology Advisory Panel. He was recently honored with the prestigious Lifetime Member of California MGMA Award.
Julie DietzRCM Director, Chicago
Julie has more than 15 years of healthcare experience, providing operational, financial, regulatory processes and directing numerous internal control and process improvement for clients. Julie leads with very hands-on approach to the daily operations and has developed proven strategies in management of billing, personnel, accounts receivable and strategic planning. Prior to CHMB, Julie was the Director of RCM for the largest ED billing company in the Illinois region. Julie’s greatest strengths are her creativity, drive and leadership. She thrives on challenges, particularly those that expand the company’s reach. Julie is a member of HBMA and pursuing AAPC certification.
Veronica GonzalezRCM Director, Escondido
Veronica Gonzalez’s primary responsibility includes managing reconciliation, payment posting, month end closing activities and document management at CHMB’s Escondido office. Prior to joining CHMB, Veronica was a manager at Scripps Health Business Services. With 16 years of healthcare experience, Veronica has been responsible for complex cash reconciliations for medical foundations and the interactions of those reconciliations within hospital systems. Her expertise also includes general ledger reconciliations, credit card system set up and validation, online bill payment functions, and document processing/imaging.
Linda KrugerClient Executive
Linda has over 40 years of experience in the medical billing field with her expertise being RCM optimization and revenue cycle improvement. In addition to being responsible for over 200 providers, Linda provides consultative services for CHMB’s clients. Prior to her role at CHMB, Linda worked for Team Praxis—Hawaii’s largest billing company. In the past, Linda was also a Regional Manager for Scripps Clinic and owned her own billing service for 12 years.
Richard KempleClient Executive
Richard Kemple is responsible for overseeing RCM Operations in the Irvine office. Kemple brings over 25 years of RCM experience to CHMB and leads a large team of professionals dedicated to providing superior results and maintaining the health of the accounts receivable for the clients managed in Irvine. Kemple has held every position within RCM and his hands on experience ensure that operational efficiencies are deployed to deliver results consistent with client expectations. Prior to CHMB, Kemple managed two billing services.
